Friends of Brower Park in partnership with the NYC Compost Project and the NYC Parks Department brings you Leaf Crunch 2015 at Brower Park.

“Love your neighborhood park?  Support it by raking this fall! We’ll collect and compost your leaves – and donate them to local greening projects. Bring your friends and family, rain or shine! We’ll provide the tools and snacks. RSVP: Email NYCCompostProject@dsny.nyc.gov by November 7, 2015.”

Come and enjoy the fragrance of fallen leaves as we rake and store them for distribution. Friends of Brower Park, partnering with the NYC Parks Department has been successfully turning leaves into leaf mold to nourish our Brower Parks green infrastructure. This year you will be able to help us winterize and nourish our gardens with our home made leaf mold. Our leaf mold is teaming with life so bring a microscope to witness a food producing ecosystem.

Engage in Art and Nature projects for both adults and children to make and take home.

Date: November 14, 2015
