Volunteer: Help Care for Brower Park's Trees and Plants. They need OUR Attention! Memorial Day weekend begins the summer season of caring for our park's natural and built infrastructure. Come to Brower Park and help us plant, weed, paint, perform general cleanup, and care for our trees. Join the community in creating mulch beds and rings to retain moisture, reduce soil compaction, encourage a healthy ecosystem of micro-organisms, protect roots from foot traffic damage and caustic chemicals. During the summer we will be weeding and pruning flower beds, watering and caring for the Monarch Butterfly Garden, turning our leaf-mold. We keep a photographic diary of the insects that visit the Monarch Butterfly Garden In late summer and fall we will harvest seeds, to package and freely distribute to park visitors at 2017 Leaf Crunch and other events and begin raking leaves for our leaf composting project.
